We are seeking a skilled and motivated Network Technician currently living in Maine to join our dynamic IT team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in network infrastructure and a passion for technology. This role involves the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of network systems to ensure optimal performance and security. As a Network Technician, you will play a crucial role in supporting our organization's connectivity and communication needs.
Duties
- Install, configure, and maintain Local Area Networks (LAN) and related equipment.
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues related to IP networking, VPNs, and firewalls.
- Collaborate with team members to design and implement network solutions that meet organizational needs.
- Manage backups and design disaster recovery to ensure data integrity and availability.
- Develop and maintain documentation for network configurations, procedures, and policies.
- Utilize scripting languages to automate routine tasks and improve operational efficiency.
- Work with APIs to integrate various systems and enhance network functionality.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies such as AWS to recommend improvements or upgrades.
Experience
- Proven experience in network installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
- Strong understanding of LAN technologies, IP networking principles, VPN configurations, and firewall management
- Experience with telecommunication systems is desirable.
- Knowledge of cloud services like Azure is beneficial.
- Proficiency in scripting languages for automation tasks is preferred.
