The Maine Trust for Local News is seeking an energetic journalist to report for The Times Record, a community paper in a beautiful college town.
The full-time position entails coverage of local schools and government, public safety and courts, the environment, and transportation, among other issues impacting Midcoast Maine. The right candidate will have a passion for community news coverage; show initiative in pursuing long-term enterprise stories; and be comfortable in a web-first environment. The journalist should also have: a good eye for photography, strong writing skills and attention to detail, and fluency with AP style.
Professional experience in an online or print news organization is preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate looking to get their foot in the door. Please include three of your best writing samples.
