Job Summary: Provides primary or acute healthcare services for certain acute or chronic health conditions in specific populations in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and with the policies, values, and mission of the organization. Job Description: MaineGeneral Palliative Care team is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant. In this out-patient community position, you will be joining the Palliative Care team in providing consultative and follow-up care to patients and families of the Palliative Care programs. The Palliative Care team is linked to the MaineGeneral Hospice program and staff participate periodically in Hospice services coverage. Practice in collaboration with providers of the Hospice & Palliative Care teams. We provide outpatient evaluations and continuity management in the office, home and facility setting. There will be opportunity to provide inpatient consultation/follow up support for palliative care and management for patients in the comfort unit, a 5-patient facility. Here, patients receive skilled care, long-term care and hospice general inpatient (GIP) level of service, all with comfort focused treatment goals. Additionally, you will be a resource to staff and families regarding treatment goals, medical decision-making and end of life. This full time position can include a weekly schedule of 32 - 40 hours and does not have a call requirement. The ideal candidate will have a certification in Hospice and Palliative Care, and be required to have the following: Maine medical license Maine DEA Minimum of 3 years of RN experience in a clinical setting Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Certifications: Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) - Maine State Board of Nursing, Nurse Practitioner (NP) - Maine State Board of Nursing Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 Scheduled Work Shift: Benefits: Supporting all aspects of our employees’ wellness – physical, emotional and financial – is a critical component of being a great place to work.
