Shipping and Receiving Clerk

Responsibilities

• Safely load and unload freight from trailers using forklifts, pallet jacks, or hand trucks, ensuring all loads meet specified timelines.
• Accurately document and report any exceptions in shipment counts or conditions to minimize cargo claims.
• Manage and complete paperwork, including delivery receipts, bills of lading, trailer manifests, hazardous material shipments, and special handling instructions.
• Assist with regrouping / palletizing shipments as required.
• Cargo labeling and sorting
• Maintain a high level of reliability and commitment to company standards.
• Flexibility to work various shifts as needed to meet business demands.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned.
• Loading / Unloading network trucks. 26 foot box trucks and 53 dry van.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old. A High School Diploma or GED is preferred.
• Previous warehouse, logistics or LTL experience is a plus.
• Forklift experience is strongly preferred.
• Basic arithmetic skills, including weighing and measuring shipments, are required.
• Experience using tools and equipment such as hand trucks, pallet jacks, barrel trucks, and load locks is preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with team members, customers, and management.
• Previous experience in an LTL (Less Than Truckload) operation is an advantage.
• Basic English language proficiency (reading, writing, and verbal) is required.
