Responsibilities
- Safely load and unload freight from trailers using forklifts, pallet jacks, or hand trucks, ensuring all loads meet specified timelines.
- Accurately document and report any exceptions in shipment counts or conditions to minimize cargo claims.
- Manage and complete paperwork, including delivery receipts, bills of lading, trailer manifests, hazardous material shipments, and special handling instructions.
- Assist with regrouping / palletizing shipments as required.
- Cargo labeling and sorting
- Maintain a high level of reliability and commitment to company standards.
- Flexibility to work various shifts as needed to meet business demands.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned.
- Loading / Unloading network trucks. 26 foot box trucks and 53 dry van.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old. A High School Diploma or GED is preferred.
- Previous warehouse, logistics or LTL experience is a plus.
- Forklift experience is strongly preferred.
- Basic arithmetic skills, including weighing and measuring shipments, are required.
- Experience using tools and equipment such as hand trucks, pallet jacks, barrel trucks, and load locks is preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with team members, customers, and management.
- Previous experience in an LTL (Less Than Truckload) operation is an advantage.
- Basic English language proficiency (reading, writing, and verbal) is required.
