The Vice President (VP) of Operations will oversee the strategic planning, implementation, and optimization of the company's operations for telecom OSP and fiber construction. This executive-level position is responsible for all aspects of operations, improving efficiency, and ensuring timely delivery of construction commitments and deliverables. The VP will drive key initiatives to meet organizational goals, enhance customer satisfaction, and reduce operational costs.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Team Development & Talent Management:
- Build and lead a high-performing telecom OSP and fiber operations team, focusing on talent acquisition, professional development, and retention.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement, providing regular training and development opportunities for the team.
- Evaluate performance and set clear, measurable goals for team members to drive accountability and results.
2. Leadership & Strategic Direction:
- Provide leadership and direction to the telecom OSP and fiber operations team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and accountability.
- Develop and execute long-term strategies for optimizing telecom OSP and fiber construction, inventory management, and supply chain processes.
- Collaborate with the executive leadership team and with cross-functional teams to include finance, Human Resources, Safety, and project management to ensure alignment and optimize business outcomes.
3. Operational Efficiency & Process Improvement:
- Continuously analyze and improve telecom OSP and fiber construction operations to minimize inefficiencies, reduce costs, and enhance customer service levels.
- Lead initiatives aimed at increasing operational efficiency, such as process automation, lean management techniques, and technology adoption.
- Ensure optimal inventory levels and implement effective inventory management practices to minimize stockouts and excess inventory.
4. Financial Management:
- Develop and manage the operations budget, ensuring cost control, profitability, and adherence to financial targets.
- Evaluate and select vendors and partners, negotiating favorable contracts and service-level agreements (SLAs).
- Monitor and report on financial performance related to telecom OSP and fiber operations.
5. Risk Management & Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including transportation laws, safety standards, environmental regulations, and customer requirements.
- Proactively identify and mitigate risks associated with transportation, inventory management, and other operational areas.
- Manage crisis situations, such as supply chain disruptions, and lead recovery efforts to minimize business impact.
6. Customer Experience & Stakeholder Engagement:
- Ensure that telecom OSP and fiber operations align with customer needs and expectations, striving to meet on-time delivery, quality, and service standards.
- Collaborate with sales, marketing, and project management teams to improve customer experience.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders.
7. Technology & Innovation:
- Stay current on the latest trends and technologies in telecom OSP and fiber construction and operations.
- Lead the adoption and integration of new technologies that improve operational efficiencies, reduce costs, or enhance customer service.`

Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field preferred.
- MBA or other advanced degree preferred.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in telecom OSP and fiber construction or operations, with at least 5 years in a leadership or executive role.
- Proven track record of successfully managing large, complex telecom OSP and fiber operational networks and driving operational improvements.
- Experience in managing cross-functional teams and working with senior leadership teams to align operational strategies with business goals.
