This is an exciting leadership opportunity for a professional passionate about enhancing services for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. As the Associate Director of Clinical Services, you will be part of a team committed to providing trauma-informed, person-centered care. 


The Associate Director of Clinical Services will assist in the behavioral support provided to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in our existing programs as well as external programs. The Associate Director of Clinical Services will provide clinical supervision to the Behavioral Specialist. The Associate Director of Clinical Services will supervise a team of behavior specialists in effectively identifying behavioral goals and intervention techniques using functional behavior assessment tools and recommend behavioral change methods. Associate Director of Clinical Services will also assist in driving policy and procedure across the agency to be trauma-informed and person centered. Experience designing individualized support plans and behavior interventions is required. Direct experience writing individual support plans to address medical, health, safety, psychiatric, behavioral, social and vocational outcomes strongly preferred. The Associate Director of Clinical Services must have a positive and person-centered approach and embrace individualized care. 


Responsibilities:


  • Supervises a team of behavior specialists in their practice and application of the behavioral supports service as identified in the ISP Manual.
  • Provides back-up for the behavior specialists in the event of turnover, full caseloads, program expansion and any other circumstance that may present a risk of a person to not receiving prescribed behavioral support.
  • Participates in strategic planning activities to grow our services, resources, and talent. This includes: Development of NADD trained DSPs, Specialists, and Clinicians. Development of trauma-informed practices, policies, and procedures. Identification and development of other clinical services that can best support others with complex needs.
  • Participates in regular huddles with each residential community grouping.
  •  Participates in regular planning meetings with the associate directors of Mainstay’s other programs.
  • Participates in regular planning meetings with the residential programs of Mainstay.
  • Ensures that Mainstay policy and procedure is trauma-informed, and person centered.
  • Participates in a panel review required for each person moving into, transferring between, or discharging from homes in the residential or supported living programs.
  • Participates in or assigns clinicians to participate in SIS assessments to ensure accurate reflection of the supports required to support someone in the residential program.
  • Ensures that the clinical programs remain compliant with their budgets, productivity, and utilization targets.
  • Collaborates with Human Resources to ensure that all policy and procedures are trauma-informed and person-centered.
  • Collaborates with the training coordinator to ensure that the agency is trained on trauma-informed care and person-centered practices.
  •  Works collaboratively with all Mainstay programs to continue to forward the mission of One Mainstay.

Program Management and Administration:

  • Lead and direct web-based billing and electronic client record systems to ensure proper and timely documentation, reporting, and communication.
  • Work with Executive Director of Program to establish and monitor program budgets and monitor program performance to ensure cost-effectiveness and growth.
  • Work with Technology Coordinator to implement the use of new and innovative technology to enhance and improve services.
  • Collect and analyze program data for the purpose of ongoing quality improvement of services provided.
  • Monitor Clinical Services billing and review utilization.
  • Monitor Clinical Services programs for compliance with federal, state, and county regulations and guidelines.
  • Assist as necessary with other Mainstay Life Services programs.


Staff Supervision and Development:

  • Reviews all progress notes completed by the behavior specialists.
  • Reviews all contract billing that the clinical team provides.
  • Provides training to the behavior specialists on functional behavior assessment (FBA), positive behavior support, evidence-based practices, and crisis prevention and intervention.
  • Provides administrative supervision to the behavioral health clinic to ensure that the provision of services are being fulfilled according to CCBH and insurance standards.
  • Supervision includes 2 hours of group supervision per month, and 2 hours of individual supervision per behavioral specialist per month.
  • Develops, maintains, and assigns the caseload for each behavioral specialist.
  • Provide direct supervision and support to Behavioral Specialist(s) to ensure completion of daily tasks and individualized care.
  • Assignment of cases, quality review of records, review of progress notes and treatment plans.
  • Specific supervisory tasks include but are not limited to: the development of employees' skills and knowledge of agency philosophy, policies, and professional standards, as well as federal, state, and county regulations.
  • Review/approve payroll, expense reimbursement, etc.
  • Assist with training.
  • Participate in the hiring process.
  • Guide clinical direction of all Mainstay programs in collaboration with other management staff.


Agency Management and Administration:


  • Participate in development of agency policies and procedures.
  • Represent the Employment Services Program, and Mainstay Life Services in general, as needed at meetings of professional organizations, public presentations, seminars, etc.
  • Maintain certification as a Certified Investigator; conduct certified investigations as assigned.
  • Assist in the development of new programs; serve as liaison with the community and other agencies.
  • Provide input and assist in the monitoring of the agency budget and program expenditures.
  • Serve on Agency-wide committees as needed.


Agency Management and Administration:

  • Responsible for the completion of other duties as assigned.

Hours


· 37.5 hours per week. Monday through Friday

· Physical Requirements for the Position: ability to lift 50 pounds regularly, ability to respond quickly to sounds, ability to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces, ability to see and respond to dangerous situations, ability to work in extreme weather, ability to wear personal protective gear correctly most of the day


  Education and Experience


· A Master’s degree or above in Social Work, Psychology or Education from an accredited college or university  

· Minimum 5 years employment experience working directly with persons with developmental disabilities, and

· Behavior Specialist Licensure and/or Certification as a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst, National Certified Counselor, Certified Psychiatric Rehabilitation Practitioner or other similar Behavioral Health license preferred.

· Knowledge of behavior principles, evaluation and assessment process.

· Maintains current licensure at agency expense.

· Flexible schedule including non-traditional working hours (i.e., evenings/weekends/early mornings).

· Valid drivers license and access to reliable vehicle.

· Effective documentation and time management skills.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

· Maintains confidentiality of individual and agency information.

· Exemplifies professionalism and a positive image.

· Understands agency policies and procedures.
