Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Resident Assistant to join our team in providing high-quality care to our residents. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting the daily living activities of individuals in an assisted living or long-term care environment. This position requires a commitment to enhancing the quality of life for residents, ensuring their comfort, safety, and dignity.
Duties
- Assist residents with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
- Provide support in medication management and ensure adherence to prescribed health regimens.
- Engage residents in social and recreational activities to promote mental and emotional well-being.
- Monitor and document changes in residents’ health status and report any concerns to nursing staff.
- Uphold resident rights and maintain confidentiality regarding personal information.
- Implement behavior management strategies as needed to support residents with dementia or other cognitive impairments.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for residents, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
- Drive residents to appointments or community outings as required.
Experience
- Previous experience in caregiving, home care, or assisted living settings is preferred.
- Familiarity with long-term care practices and dementia care techniques is highly desirable.
- Certification in First Aid and CPR is a plus.
- Strong understanding of resident rights and ethical caregiving practices.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.
