What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director or Computer Information Systems position at Mainstream Engineering?
As the Director of Computer Information Systems (CIS) you will manage a diverse group of professionals to include network administrators, system administrators, software engineers, and helpdesk technicians. You will be responsible for ensuring the continual operation of company-wide information technology assets. We are interested in applicants at all degree levels with experience in the following areas:
- Experience managing complex technical challenges with a solution-oriented approach to business and technical issue
- Hands-on approach to both managing the department technical experience driving systems architecture, looking at the big picture and how the design will fit into the corporate strategy
- Planning, designing and implementing all IT strategies and development of technology roadmap
- Assessing individual department needs, how they relate to the company's strategic plan and ability to prioritize multiple projects and resources
- Liaising and managing all existing vendor and business partner relationships and development of new relationships where needed
- Ensure the company and its IT systems adhere to the contractual requirements of DFARS 252.204-7012, DFARS 252.204-7019, DFARS 252.204-7020, DFARS 252.204-7021, and FAR 52.204-21
- Provide expertise and support during systems upgrades, installations, conversions and file maintenance
- Taking responsibility for uptime of all business application systems, networks and ensuring they are maintained and routinely backed up in accordance with company retention policies
- Maintain appropriate backup strategy
- Monitor and respond to anti-virus and security events
- Manage the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, upgrade, and support of all IT systems, including servers, PCs, operating systems, telephones, software applications, and peripherals
- Experience with web applications, JavaScript, MySQL
- Manage servers, security solutions, network hardware and equipment
- Manage financial aspects of the CIS Department, including purchasing, budgeting, and budget review
Position Requirements
- S., M.S., or PhD in Computer Science, Management, Operations, Leadership, Information Technology, Business, or related field
- 10 years of professional relevant experience, with at least 3 years' experience as a leader managing IT teams
- S. Citizenship required due to US Government ITAR restrictions
- GPA > 3.3 at all degree levels
- Understanding of the business impact of different solutions and ability to assess impact and communicate the tradeoffs between business needs, technology requirements, timelines, costs and risks
- Understanding of contracts and ability to understand, design, negotiate and execute in conjunction with company procedures
- Ability to manage and develop vendor relationships and realize when to utilize external versus internal resources
- Ability to manage Exchange and SQL database environments
- Previous experience with Active Directory, Cisco, Exchange, Linux, Project Management, VMWare, and Windows
Certifications
Candidates should have licenses or certifications relevant to the position to include: ITIL, PMP, CISSP, CISA, CISM, MCSE, PM, CISD, CCP, CCA
