Insurance Credentialing and Billing Coordinator

A Day in The Life as an Insurance Credentialing and Billing Coordinator
As the Insurance Credentialing and Billing Coordinator, you’ll be part of a team directly responsible for maintaining all insurance licensure & certifications and monitor billing issues of an agency that directly helps families and children. You’ll be part a team coming together to take responsibility for:
- Payer enrollment, medical billing, and credentialing.
- Multi-state Medicaid and commercial payer enrollment.
- Medicare Provider Enrollment, Chain, and Ownership System (PECOS)
- Council for Affordable Quality Healthcare (CAQH).
- Submitting credential applications and ensuring all licensure/certifications are current.
- Being a resource for members of billing/coding team needing assistance.
- The monthly collection of data on billing issues and develops education/training for billing staff.
- Complying with all policies and regulations for credentialing providers.
- Maintaining a database of timelines and credentialed providers for use by other departments
- Maintaining professional relationships with staff, clients, payers, other agencies.
- Attending relevant meetings, external and internal, and participating in agency committees as assigned by supervisors.
Your Qualifications are:
- Associate degree or industry-specific work experience required. Bachelor's degree preferred.
- 2-3 years of experience in healthcare credentialing and insurance billing.
- Medical Billing Experience preferred.
