PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Responsible for expediting the procurement of all items required by the maintenance department and district campuses to perform their device functions
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Certification Requirements
- High school graduate or GED equivalent
- Valid Texas driver’s license, insurable with the Judson ISD insurance carrier and a good driving record
- Candidate must have satisfactory outcome of fingerprinting background check
Special Knowledge and Skills
- Ability to read Texas street maps
- Ability to operate personal computer
- Working knowledge of parts associated with plumbing, welding, carpentry, HVAC, electrical, and small engines
- Understand the concepts and importance of first in first out, shelf life, material safety data sheets (MSDS), units of issue (U/I), and audited inventory
- Knowledge of computerized inventory, tracking systems and computer programs (Excel, Word)
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Experience:
- Experience operating cargo van, forklift and other material handling equipment preferred
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

- Comply with District directives and Maintenance policies and safety procedures
- Pick-up bench stock items and equipment from vendor and delivers to maintenance warehouse for proper storage
- Pick-up and deliver maintenance related items and equipment for various schools and department
- Return merchandise and equipment to vendors for repairs and/or refund
- Assists the maintenance warehouseman with daily/annual stock inventories and daily housekeeping duties
- Perform daily inspection and upkeep of shop vehicle and material handling equipment used in the performance of assigned duties
- Perform other duties as assigned, based on department needs
- Must complete designated district technology proficiencies each year
- Requires a basic knowledge of technology/computer skills
- Ability to use personal computer to access district programs, emails, and other resources
- Maintain a consistent professional demeanor and appearance
- Ensure compliance with the Texas Educator’s Code of Ethics
- Daily attendance and punctuality at work are essential functions of the job

Equipment Used:
- Office equipment – personal computer, printer, calculator, multi-line telephone, software programs and peripherals, copier, fax, and other equipment applicable to position.
- Warehouse equipment to include; ladder, dolly, scaffolding, fork lift, pallet jack, box knife, and small hand tools
Mental Demands:
- Ability to read, concentrate, communicate effectively (verbally and written), interpret, reason, understand verbal instructions, memorize, coordinate, compile, compute, analyze, differentiate
- Work with frequent interruptions and maintain emotional control under stress
Physical Demands:
- Frequent: Sitting, standing, walking, climbing stairs and/or ramps, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, pulling, pushing, reaching, repetitive hand motions, hearing, speaking clearly, visual acuity, distinguishing colors, driving, traveling.
- Occasional: Lifting, heavy, 45 pounds or more
Environmental Factors:
- Frequent exposure to: temperature extremes (hot and cold), humidity extremes, noise, low or intense illumination, vibration
- Occasional exposure to: biological hazards (communicable diseases, bacteria, insects, mold, fungi, etc.), work outside, work around moving objects or vehicles, work on uneven surfaces
- Work alone, work prolonged or irregular hours
