Release Manager Product & Data Engineering

The Product & Data Engineering team is responsible for end-to-end development for world-class consumer-facing products, including streaming platforms and digital products across various media properties. This team drives innovation at scale for millions of consumers around the world across platforms such as mobile (iOS, Android), Smart TVs, game consoles, and the web, powering core experiences like personalization, search, messaging, and data.

The Release Manager will report to the Manager of Delivery & Operational Intelligence within Product & Data Engineering. This role is focused on introducing procedural excellence and driving business innovation strategy globally within the team. The Release Manager will partner with leaders to develop annual release forecasting plans and track execution progress. Success in this role requires advanced analytical, communication, and project management skills, as well as a resourceful mindset, strong customer-service orientation, and the ability to prioritize effectively in demanding environments.

We are looking for someone with a builder mindset someone who takes proactive ownership, influences stakeholders, solves problems, and creates structure. Additionally, we need someone highly experienced who has done this type of work before and can articulate how they have added value.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with Product & Technical Directors to manage and forecast release schedules, standardize workflows, and ensure deliverables meet strategic objectives across web and mobile platforms.
  • Facilitate agile methodologies and lead problem-solving sessions to encourage creativity and innovation.
  • Provide data-driven solutions to assess and improve the health of services, deployments, and releases.
  • Conduct tactical and strategic analysis for multiple business units, providing insights and recommendations.
  • Organize and lead team-building events to promote team cohesion and foster a strong sense of belonging.
  • Mentor team members across disciplines to ensure technical and delivery excellence.
  • Develop internal training sessions and maintain onboarding practices to enhance the skills of new hires.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering teams to build innovative systems and improve efficiency in deliverables.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of related IT experience.
  • Experience in mobile release management, with knowledge of mobile platforms (iOS, Android, App Store, Play Store).
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail, and experience in managing complex projects and prioritizing multiple workstreams.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.
  • Experience with agile software development methodologies.
  • Proven leadership experience, with the ability to guide and mentor teams.
  • Ability to interpret and synthesize data from multiple sources to generate insights and actionable recommendations.
  • Creative thinking and ability to drive innovation in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with workflow management tools like Airtable.
  • Understanding of existing procedures and corporate culture within large-scale engineering organizations.
  • Experience in Automation and DevOps: Proficiency in automation scripting with tools like Jenkins, Ansible, and Python, and experience managing code repositories.
  • Familiarity with integrating workflow management tools like Airtable for process efficiency.
