We are currently seeking an experienced Server to help join our team at Maison. We are a small restaurant, and aim to be the 'neighborhood' place that is sought out by locals and world travelers alike.
Job OverviewWe are seeking a knowledgeable and personable Server to provide an exceptional dining experience at our French wine bar. The ideal candidate is passionate about hospitality, food, and wine, with a keen ability to anticipate guest needs and deliver impeccable service. As a server, you will guide guests through our curated selection of French wines and small plates, ensuring a warm and refined experience that aligns with our standards of excellence. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment are essential for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
Guest Service:
- Greet guests warmly, present menus, and provide detailed information on menu items, daily specials, and promotions.
- Take accurate food and beverage orders and relay them to the kitchen or bar staff as needed.
- Serve food and beverages in a timely and professional manner.
- Ensure guest satisfaction by checking on guests regularly and addressing any concerns promptly.
- Provide recommendations and answer questions about menu items, including ingredients and dietary considerations.
- Assist guests with special requests and accommodate modifications where possible.
- Process guest payments accurately and efficiently.
- Handle special events and large party orders with efficiency and attention to detail.
- Foster repeat business through excellent service and genuine rapport with guests.
Dining Area Maintenance:
- Set up tables, maintain cleanliness, and ensure a polished appearance of the dining area.
- Refill beverages and replenish table settings as needed.
- Clear tables and reset them for new guests promptly.
- Adhere to sanitation and safety standards throughout all areas of the restaurant.
Collaboration & Communication:
- Work closely with kitchen and bar staff to ensure seamless service.
- Communicate guest preferences and feedback to management for continuous improvement.
- Participate in pre-shift meetings to stay informed about menu changes, specials, and other important information.
- Assist fellow staff members during peak times to ensure smooth operations.
Administrative Tasks:
- Maintain accurate cash handling and POS procedures.
- Ensure adherence to tip reporting and documentation requirements.
- Uphold compliance with all restaurant policies, health, and safety regulations.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience as a server role preferred.
- Fine dining experience preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks effectively.
- Positive attitude and a commitment to delivering excellent customer service.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Enthusiastic, organized, self- motivated, detail oriented and joyful
- Excellent customer service skills and ability to understand and respond to individual guests needs and requirements
- A genuine passion and understanding of food and drink
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 pounds.
- Ability to work long hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required by business needs.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining composure and attention to detail
