Restaurant Expeditor

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Expeditor to join our team in a fast-paced kitchen environment. The Expeditor plays a crucial role in ensuring that food orders are prepared and delivered efficiently, maintaining high standards of quality and presentation. This position is ideal for individuals who thrive in a collaborative setting and possess strong communication skills.

Duties

• Coordinate and manage the flow of food orders from the kitchen to the dining area, ensuring timely delivery.
• Assist cooks in preparing dishes by organizing ingredients and ensuring all necessary items are available.
• Communicate effectively with kitchen staff and servers to relay order details and special requests.
• Monitor food presentation and quality before it leaves the kitchen, ensuring it meets restaurant standards.
• Help maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen area, including bussing tables when necessary.
• Support the team during busy service periods by stepping in where needed to assist with food handling or customer service.

Skills

• Strong communication skills to effectively interact with kitchen staff, servers, and management.
• Experience in a kitchen or restaurant environment is preferred, with knowledge of food handling practices.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
• Customer service orientation, with a focus on providing an excellent dining experience.
• Familiarity with banquet service is a plus, as well as experience in hotel settings.
• A willingness to help others and collaborate as part of a team.
