Your Role
As our Safety Manager, you'll be at the forefront of creating a safe workplace. Your expertise will guide the implementation of safety programs, protect our team, and uphold our reputation for safety excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Safety Program Development and Implementation
Innovate: Develop, implement, and enhance safety programs and policies in line with local, state, and federal regulations and industry best practices.
Assess and Control: Conduct hazard assessments and risk analyses to identify potential safety hazards, developing effective control measures.
Set Standards: Establish safety procedures, guidelines, and protocols to ensure compliance and foster a safety-first culture.
- Training and Education
Educate: Provide comprehensive safety training and education for employees, subcontractors, and site visitors to increase safety awareness and promote safe practices.
Engage: Conduct regular safety meetings, toolbox talks, and training sessions to address specific safety topics and ensure protocol adherence.
Evaluate: Monitor and improve the effectiveness of training programs.
- Safety Inspections and Audits
Inspect: Perform regular safety inspections and audits to identify hazards and ensure compliance.
Investigate: Analyze incidents, accidents, and near misses, implementing corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
Document: Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incident reports, and corrective actions.
- Regulatory Compliance
Stay Informed: Keep up to date with safety regulations and ensure the company's compliance with all standards.
Report: Prepare and submit required safety reports, permits, and documentation.
Collaborate: Coordinate with regulatory agencies during inspections and audits.
- Safety Culture and Communication
Promote: Foster a strong safety culture through open communication and active participation.
Inform: Regularly update the organization on safety-related information, updates, and initiatives.
Support: Act as a resource and point of contact for safety inquiries, providing guidance to project teams.
What We're Looking For
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or related field (preferred).
Experience: Minimum of 5 years in safety management, preferably in civil construction.
Knowledge: In-depth understanding of safety regulations and construction site safety practices.
Certification: Relevant safety program certifications (e.g., OSHA 30-hour, First Aid/CPR).
Skills: Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with proficiency in safety management software.
