Overview
The Director, Media Operations will play a critical role in enhancing the efficiency and quality of MLS Productions by supporting the implementation of new workflows and technologies. Reporting to the Senior Director, Media Operations, this role will focus on optimizing day-to-day production processes and fostering collaboration with clubs and vendors. The ideal candidate will have a hands-on approach to problem-solving and a passion for driving operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Senior Director, Media Operations to develop and implement production workflows that align with the overarching strategic goals of MLS Productions.
- Assist with live production support on Match Days, including monitoring and reporting production issues, and escalating concerns as needed.
- Coordinate the identification and communication of live production feeds, ensuring clarity and efficiency in execution.
- Support the oversight of production vendor activities, ensuring delivery aligns with established timelines, quality standards, and resource requirements.
- Assist in researching and analyzing club/venue production needs, offering actionable insights to align with MLS standards.
- Help develop and implement policies and procedures to enhance production capabilities across clubs.
- Monitor industry trends and key performance indicators to provide recommendations for operational improvements.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal teams, clubs, and vendors to drive collaborative success.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in media operations, broadcast production, or a related field.
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent required
Required Skills
- Familiarity with broadcast production workflows and technologies.
- High-level of commitment to a quality work product and organizational ethics, integrity and compliance
- Ability to work effectively in a fast paced, team environment
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing
- Demonstrated decision making and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Ability to travel and to work non-traditional hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Desired Skills
- Knowledge of the Spanish Language (business proficiency)
- Knowledge of the sport of soccer
