Major, Lindsey & Africa’s Interim Legal Talent group has an immediate need for an Interim Pre-Litigation Paralegal for a temp-to-perm position.
Overview : Our client is looking for a talented Pre-Litigation Paralegal to join their growing team.
Company : Boutique litigation firm
Experience : Candidates should have at least 3 years of experience handling pre-litigation responsibilities. Our client is seeking candidates with medical malpractice and catastrophic personal injury experience.
Location : In the Philadelphia office, you are required to work onsite 5 days a week for the first two months. After this period, you may work one day a week remotely.
Responsibilities Include :
- Speak with potential clients and obtain a summary of the facts of the case so that the attorneys can decide whether to sign the case up
- Obtain CFA and medical authorizations from clients
- Order all pertinent medical records / imaging
- Organize and Summarize Medical Records with a focus on the medical facts that impact liability in the case – close collaboration with the attorney for guidance on these issues.
- Conduct limited medical research online regarding medical issues at issue in a case
- First line of contact with pre-litigation clients
- Work with attorneys to investigate the case to determine whether or not it will be placed into suit and assist with taking all steps necessary to get a case ready for filing (coordinate getting estate raised, if necessary, etc.)
- Most of the cases will be medical malpractice cases. If not medical malpractice, then all other cases are other types of catastrophic injury cases
- Previous experience in medical malpractice or catastrophic personal injury is required
