ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following, however other duties may be assigned based on business need:
- Performs credit analysis and underwriting reviews on applicants seeking financing for purchase and/or refinance of general aviation aircraft. Responsible for assessing creditworthiness of individuals and companies regardless of dollar amount, industry or complexity, in accordance with State regulatory guidelines and Salem Five’s lending policies. Accurately analyzes and processes credit application packages in a manner consistent with department quality standards. Formulates credit memo documents as required for high level Committees and the Board reviews.
- Approves, administers, and reviews loans and loan commitments to ensure that they adhere to existing policy guidelines and examines loan documentation to confirm compliance with credit terms granted and that necessary document records have been prepared to safeguard enforceability of the bank’s loan contracts and security interests in its collateral.
- Presents underwritten applications to management with recommendations regarding rejections, approvals, and/or counter proposals that either; advocate terms to credit worthy applicants or rejects those credits not adhering to existing credit guidelines.
- Performs annual reviews as necessary on existing credits to protect the quality and profitability of the loan portfolio.
- Identifies potential problem loans.

Assists department with portfolio management service needs including supervision of input data/usage for credit underwriting system.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Carries out supervisory responsibilities as directed and in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, training employees, planning, assigning and directing work, addressing complaints and resolving problems.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (B. A. or B. S.) from four-year college or university; and seven to ten years of related senior level experience (i.e., lending, credit approval, workout) and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Seven to ten years of commercial underwriting experience, showing increasing levels of responsibilities, required. Experience underwriting larger and very complex loan transactions. Applicant must have appropriately developed the computer skills necessary to complete assignments. Previous experience with approval authority is required.
