Our progressive boutique law firm located in Westchester County, New York, is seeking an experienced, bright, self-starting, polished, and articulate paralegal to join their elder law and estate planning practice. Our practice areas include estate planning, estate and trust administration, guardianships, and Medicaid applications.
The ideal candidate must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, collegial, team-oriented environment, and be responsible, very organized and detail-oriented, conscientious, and motivated to learn.
Because of our needs, we will only consider candidates with significant paralegal experience in our practice areas.
Responsibilities will include :
- Assisting attorneys with the preparation of legal documents, such as estate planning documents, petitions for guardianship, probate, and administration proceedings, and affidavits of service
- Heavy communication with existing and prospective clients and other individuals, including timely follow-up concerning information and documents needed
- Organizing and maintaining digital and non-digital files, including monitoring documents for missing information
- Monitoring deadlines
- Assisting with office administrative duties, such as scanning, making photocopies, and filing
