What We Are Looking For

We are seeking a visionary VP of Sales & Marketing to lead and drive Makeship's sales and marketing strategy. This role will oversee the Director of Marketing and Directors of Sales, aligning both functions to achieve our growth objectives. As a key member of the executive team, the VP of Sales & Marketing will bring a skill set that includes revenue strategy, customer acquisition, and lifecycle management. This role is central to our mission of empowering creators, driving revenue, and fostering growth in the creator economy. Your teams initiatives will be crucial in shaping the creator economy and creating impactful 8-figure revenue-generating strategies.

Your Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and execute comprehensive sales and marketing strategies that drive revenue growth and market expansion.
  • Ensure all sales and marketing initiatives are strategically aligned with the companys overarching business objectives, ensuring a cohesive and unified approach to growth
  • Oversee the development and execution of go-to-market plans, including product positioning, pricing, and promotion.
  • Collaborate with other executive team members to define and monitor KPIs across the sales and marketing functions.

Sales Leadership:

  • Lead the Directors of Sales in setting and achieving aggressive sales targets.
  • Design and implement effective sales processes, tools, and performance metrics including robust forecasting methodologies.
  • Cultivate a high-performing sales culture focused on accountability, motivation, and continuous improvement.
  • Develop strategic partnerships and identify new business opportunities to drive revenue growth.

Marketing Leadership:

  • Guide the Director of Marketing in developing and executing marketing campaigns that enhance brand visibility, lead generation, and measurable growth.
  • Oversee content creation, digital marketing, public relations, and other marketing initiatives to support and amplify sales efforts.
  • Leverage data insights and analytical tools to continuously refine marketing strategies, maximize ROI, and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
  • Ensure brand consistency across all marketing channels and materials, strengthening Makeships position as a leader in the creator economy.

Revenue Operations:

  • Align sales and marketing operations to ensure a seamless and reliable customer journey from acquisition through retention whilst fostering long-term loyalty.
  • Develop and oversee the companys revenue strategy, including customer segmentation, dynamic pricing models, and accurate sales forecasting to drive sustainable growth.
  • Continuously monitor and analyze market trends and competitive landscape, and leverage customer feedback to refine strategies, maintain a competitive edge, and identify new revenue opportunities.

Team Development:

  • Cultivate a collaborative and synergistic environment between sales and marketing teams, ensuring alignment on goals, strategies, and execution to drive shared success.
  • Mentor and empower the Directors of Sales and Director of Marketing, fostering their growth as strategic leaders to build a robust leadership pipeline to support the companys long-term objectives.
  • Promote a culture that values innovation, continuous learning, and a commitment to excellence, inspiring the Sales and Marketing teams to achieve outstanding results and exceed expectations.

What You Bring

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in sales and marketing roles, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership position.
  • Proven success in scaling sales and marketing operations in a fast-growing company, preferably in the eCommerce sector.
  • Experience in revenue strategy and operations, with a strong understanding of the customer lifecycle.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive revenue growth and achieve business objectives.
  • Extensive knowledge of sales and marketing principles, practices, and tools.
  • Proficiency in CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) and marketing automation tools (e.g., HubSpot).
  • Strong leadership and people management skills with a track record of building and leading high-performing teams.
  • Exceptional strategic thinking and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Results-driven and customer-focused with a passion for innovation and growth.
  • Collaborative and team-oriented, with a commitment to fostering a positive work environment.

  • Familiarity with the content creator economy and eCommerce trends.

Bonus

  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Certification in sales or marketing management.
  • Experience in a startup or fast-growing company environment.

Salary Band: $145-190k CAD per annum plus incentives between 37-50k for total cash compensation between 182-240k. Individual salaries will be dependent on unique skills, experience and qualifications.
