Overview
The Shipping & Receiving Clerk plays a critical role in Makesy’s fulfillment operations, ensuring all outbound freight is coordinated for on time delivery ensuring 100% accuracy. This role provides support for our third-party logistics (3PL) operations, helping to coordinate and process outbound shipments for both direct-to-consumer and wholesale customers. What you'll do:
Shipping Responsibilities
- Coordinate freight and load outbound shipments, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries.
- Process shipments using warehouse management software and carrier systems (FedEx, UPS, USPS, and freight carriers).
- Work closely with third-party logistics (3PL) providers, ensuring smooth outbound shipping operations.
- Prepare and load wholesale freight shipments, collaborating with B2B points of contact for accuracy.
- Monitor order status, update tracking information, and resolve shipping discrepancies as needed.
- Ensure outbound shipments meet quality control standards, checking for damages or errors before release.
- Maintain accurate shipping records and assist in inventory tracking for outbound logistics.
Receiving Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against packing slips and purchase orders.
- Record and track inventory using Makesy’s warehouse management system.
- Unload incoming freight and properly document receipts, reporting any discrepancies, damages, or missing items.
- Ensure received inventory is accurately recorded and stored, maintaining warehouse organization.
- Coordinate with inventory teams to replenish stock and track material levels.
- Keep the shipping and receiving areas clean, organized, and operating efficiently.
Who you are:
- 1-2 years of experience in shipping, receiving, logistics, or warehouse operations.
- Familiarity with shipping software and carrier systems (FedEx, UPS, USPS, and freight logistics platforms).
- Experience working with third-party logistics (3PL) providers is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and work on your feet for extended periods.
- Comfortable in a fast-paced, high-volume warehouse environment.
- Basic computer skills for data entry (google sheets, excel etc), tracking, and communication with carriers and 3PL partners.
