Warehouse Operations Manager
Are you a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth environment?
Are you passionate about building efficient, people-first operations from the ground up?
Do you take pride in running a warehouse like it’s your own business?
If you’re nodding “yes,” you might be the Warehouse Manager we’re looking for. At Makesy, we’re scaling fast—and we’re seeking a strategic, energetic, and forward-thinking leader to head up our new high-volume warehouse in Texas. This is more than logistics—it’s a chance to build and lead a best-in-class operation that powers creativity for makers around the world.
In this role, you’ll oversee all daily functions of our warehouse—from inventory control, order fulfillment (picking & packing), shipping, and receiving. You’ll also be responsible for managing our third-party logistics (3PL) partnerships to ensure seamless coordination across the entire supply chain. With a team of 50 across e-commerce and B2B channels, your leadership will play a crucial role in shaping Makesy’s next chapter of operational excellence.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead and develop a high-performing team of 50 across inventory control, order fulfillment (picking & packing), shipping, and receiving.
- Oversee and manage relationships with third-party logistics (3PL) partners, ensuring SLAs are met and Makesy standards are upheld.
- Own and exceed KPIs related to order turnaround (24-hour fulfillment), quality control, and operational efficiency.
- Champion lean operations and continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste and maximize output.
- Create and maintain a clean, organized, and inspiring warehouse environment that meets OSHA standards and supports a high-performance culture.
- Collaborate with finance, purchasing, and inventory teams to ensure seamless material flow, stock accuracy, and demand planning.
- Implement robust quality control systems to ensure exceptional customer experiences.
- Manage labor, productivity, costs, and warehouse capacity planning to align with company growth targets.
- Support employee engagement and retention through regular coaching, performance management, and workplace events in collaboration with HR.
- Oversee physical layout, equipment maintenance, and space utilization for optimal flow and safety.
- Develop and enforce SOPs across warehouse functions; document and train accordingly.
- Partner with shipping providers and suppliers to ensure timely, accurate inbound and outbound logistics.
- Forecast assembly and production needs, assign tasks, and oversee completion against targets.
- Analyze data to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, or process gaps—and proactively solve for them.
What You Bring:
- 3 years experience managing large-scale warehouse operations (50 staff), preferably in a DTC or B2B e-commerce setting.
- Experienced in managing and optimizing 3PL partnerships to maintain seamless service and logistics outcomes.
- Experience with shipping carriers and freight logistics.
- Natural leader with a people-first mindset—you invest in your team and know how to motivate and develop others.
- Obsessed with process and efficiency—you see gaps and design smart systems to solve them.
- Hands-on, proactive, and adaptable—you don’t just delegate, you dig in when needed.
- Strong knowledge of inventory management systems and warehouse management software (e.g., NetSuite, WMS).
- Deep knowledge of OSHA and warehouse safety standards.
- Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred—our diverse team thrives with strong, clear communication at every level.
- You take pride in a clean, organized, and well-run space—it reflects your leadership.
