The Position :
Makpar is seeking an experienced Business Developer to cultivate business opportunities at the Department of the Interior. Individuals must reside in the local DMV area Washington DC, Maryland, or Virginia and be onsite when required at the DOI offices.
Role Specific Duties
- Current experience and customer relationships within the Department of the Interior
- Must have relationships with key decision makers (not just contract officers)
- Looking for a min 5-7 years' experience
- Understand how your customer procures their contracts
- Be able to Identify and research potential clients and seek out qualified opportunities.
- Develop and maintain existing and new client relationships
- Work with internal support team driving opportunities to submit
- Gather useful information from customer and competitor data
- Make and give presentations to prospective clients and internal executives
- Track, identify and add qualified prospects to sales pipeline
- Develop and manage strategic partnerships to grow business
- Be invested in industry by attending events, trade shows etc.
- Be able to develop an Account Plan that drives to a Tactical Plan
- Have a level understanding of your industry / Customer issues and potential solutions.
- Work collaboratively with the SA / CTO to define solutions around AI / ML
