The Lead Maintenance Technician plays a vital role in the operation, inspection, and upkeep of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems in assigned facilities. This position works closely with the engineering team to ensure the efficient maintenance and repair of building systems and equipment, as well as performing independent maintenance tasks. The Lead Maintenance Technician is responsible for interior and exterior inspections and repairs, including work on walls, flooring, fixtures, roofing, lighting, and more.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the engineering team with routine maintenance and repairs to building systems and equipment.
- Perform a variety of maintenance tasks, including painting, pressure cleaning, minor plumbing repairs, locksmith services, tenant service requests, and general building upkeep.
- Handle general interior maintenance tasks such as hanging pictures, installing keyboard trays, and repairing office furniture systems.
- Maintain and replace lighting system components such as bulbs and ballasts.
- Move office furniture, machinery, equipment, and other materials as requested.
- Conduct property inspections and preventive maintenance as assigned.
- Ensure compliance with safety procedures and maintain cleanliness and safety in work areas. Identify potential hazards and propose solutions.
- Participate in ongoing technical, safety, and operational training programs.
- Ensure work complies with State, County, and City ordinances, codes, or laws.
- Occasionally work independently or as part of a team depending on project requirements.
- Undertake additional tasks and projects as assigned by the engineering team or management.
Qualifications & Skills:
- 1-3 years of relevant experience in maintenance, repair, plumbing, electrical, or carpentry.
- Trade school certification, union training, military service, or college education in a relevant field is preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks such as bending, kneeling, climbing, and driving.
- Comfort working with ladders up to 30 feet in height.
- Strong customer service orientation and effective communication skills.
- Ability to work independently or collaboratively as part of a team.
