GENERAL SUMMARY:
Malace|HR is seeking a 3rd shift Metallurgical Lab Technician to perform material structure analysis on heat-treated components and provide support for manufacturing processes. The role requires proficiency with metallurgical testing equipment and the ability to work independently or within a team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Metallurgical Testing: Prepare heat-treated components and perform tests such as micro-hardness and case depth analysis.
- Sediment Analysis: Conduct routine sediment tests on samples related to the manufacturing process.
- Compliance: Perform testing according to guidelines outlined by metallurgists and Testing Information Sheets (TIS).
- Reporting: Maintain accurate charts, reports, and records for metallurgical and sediment processes.
- Material Approval: Approve materials based on established specifications.
- Equipment Operation: Safely operate lab equipment for metallurgical and sediment testing.
- Team Collaboration: Assist engineering teams in solving manufacturing issues.
- Safety & Housekeeping: Follow safety standards and maintain a clean lab environment.

Education & Experience:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; 2-year degree in a related field preferred.
- Experience: Previous experience in a lab or manufacturing environment is a plus but not required.

- Technical Skills: Knowledge of metallurgical testing and lab equipment.
