The role of the Powerhouse/SUM Manager is to ensure the proper operation, maintenance, and utilities management of Central Energy Plant process support equipment, and site utilities. The Powerhouse/SUM Manager must lead individuals and teams to provide high level service delivery to the client. The Powerhouse/SUM Manager reports to the Site Manager.
Education/Experience
- Associate or bachelor's degree preferred and/or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 5 years industry experience require
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Must have extensive knowledge on Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Outlook, and Access)
Supervisor Responsibilities for the following Support Personnel
- Direct Reports
- Represented Maintenance Mechanics for 24/7 operation
- Indirect Reports
- Union Trades - Electrician, HVAC, and Maintenance Helper
Management Responsibilities for Development & Oversight of the following:
- Coordinate activities for management of all site utilities
- Ensure all job responsibilities; reports, etc. are completed on time
- Prepare management scorecard information
- Single point communication with Utilities (Water, Natural Gas, Electricity)
- Prepare and monitor site utilities budget
- Prepare and monitor project budget plans
- Enter all monthly utility readings into GM2100 System
- Approve all monthly utility bills for payment
- Monitor site electrical use using Energy OnStar, and compressed air using "Air Technologies" websites
- Ensure Cimplicity Screens for the CEP and notification alarms to the CEP shift phone are valid
- Conduct all hiring interviews for Stationary Engineers
- Review, approve and enter all Central Energy Plant personnel timesheets into online "ADP" system
- Work schedule planning for overtime & vacation to support 24/7, 365 day Stationary Engineer coverage
- Schedule/track training for all Stationary Engineers and ensure required state licenses are being maintained
- Promote cross training of Stationary Engineers with other facility personnel for assistance with site emergency response
- Provide classroom and onsite training for personnel with SME Vendors and or internal SME's
- Report disruption updates to Site Manager at 8am Fast Response Meeting
- Administration of CFC/Refrigerant Tracking Data Base
- Procure all material/parts required to maintain the Central Energy Plant
- Organize, plan, manage and provide "real time" feedback to the Facility Manager during planned and unplanned utility shutdowns
- Responsible for GMS compliance: Training; Suggestions; Conduct daily safety talks, weekly walks- safety, housekeeping, workplace organization, weekly BPD Board Reviews
- Support Client's Basket Weave Process in coordination with all departments
- Participate in the site (HMCC) Hazardous Material Control Committee
- Coordinate with Client Corporate personnel on (EPA) MACT Standards, providing all requested documents
- Responsible for operation, maintenance, efficiency tracking and improvement of powerhouse equipment (i.e., chillers, compressors, boilers, etc.)
- Support Facilities initiatives: Energy & Water reduction; Utility reliability
- Lead site implementation of utilities services continuous improvement process (i.e. interruptions, safety, environmental violations)
- Forecast utility consumption for (Natural Gas, Electricity, Compressed Air and Potable Water)
- Comply to Safety Contract and Vendor Management Processes
- Support GMS and BPD process
- Weekend and Shutdown Planning
- Work Order Management
