Stationary Engineer are involved in maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment within an industrial facility. The role is critical for ensuring the proper operation of various systems, including boilers, HVAC, and electrical controls, while also performing preventive maintenance and responding to emergencies. This position requires a licensed professional with significant technical expertise and the ability to work in a high-stress environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance on all base building and critical system equipment.
- Install and repair plumbing, piping, tubing; wire single and three-phase motors; run conduit; pull wiring to machinery, motors, operating parts, etc.
- Install and rebuild pumps and motors; install and rebuild air compressors; heat exchangers; replace bearings in all types of motors; replace seals on pumps.
- Install and repair piping, valves, filters, hot water systems and associated controls.
- Assist other mechanics and operators with major repairs and maintenance of buildings and equipment.
- Install, repair, and maintain electrical controls, switches, and motor controls.
- Monitor operation and maintain refrigeration, chilled water, and air conditioning equipment; boilers, heating, ventilating, and hot water equipment; pumps, valves, piping, and filters.
- Record readings as necessary to ensure proper operation of equipment; responsible for reporting any problems or malfunctions.
- Identify and prioritize major and critical alarms and respond to them by taking the necessary measures, as well as documenting these measures.
- Analyze water samples taken from our equipment and from the utilities.
- Check and monitor the emergency generators during power outages.
Requirements
- Possess a stationary engineer's license.
- 5 years of experience in a heavy industrial environment.
- Hold a Missouri Operating Engineer Certificate.
- Universal CFC Certificate is required.
- Proficiency in information systems, including email, automated building systems, and operator control panels.
