The Product Manager will support and drive the development and execution of new products and innovations that align with our company's growth strategy and market demands. This role is responsible for establishing clear new product project definitions, ensuring customer needs are balanced with profitability, manufacturability, and available technology, meeting volume potential, and ensuring product profitability. They will work with Research and Development to determine the raw material costs, with plant operations and accounting to determine what it will cost to manufacture, and with the sales team to set the price.
Knowledge, Education, and Experience
A bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in engineering, chemistry, project management, business administration, or a related field. An MBA or an advanced degree is a plus. A minimum of 7 years of project management experience within the roofing or building material industry is required. At least 10 years of experience in the roofing or building material market. Proven track record of successful product development and innovation within a competitive market
Must have excellent organizational, leadership, and decision-making skills. Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to manage diverse teams and stakeholders. Ability to think creatively and drive product differentiation in the market. Understand and prioritize the customer needs in product design and development.
Must be a strong team player who can work effectively across departments to drive to achieve results that positively impact the company's growth and customer satisfaction. Strong knowledge of roofing materials' product development processes, manufacturing, and technical aspects is a plus.
Ability to adapt to shifting priorities and changing circumstances with a positive attitude. Ability to work independently and in collaboration with others. Ability to meet critical deadlines and work under pressure. Ability to communicate effectively among different departments at all levels of the company. Capable of working independently or in a team setting and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work a flexible schedule as the needs of the business change.
