Key Responsibilities and Skills
- Financial Reporting: Oversee and manage the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements in compliance with GAAP. Maintain the general ledger and prepare detailed financial forecasts and metrics to support accurate reporting.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Develop, monitor, and manage budgets and forecasts in alignment with business objectives. Take responsibility for compiling company-wide budgets and tracking departmental budgets for better alignment with financial goals.
- Cost Accounting: Analyze manufacturing costs, identify variances, and implement cost-saving measures.
- Internal Controls: Establish and maintain robust internal controls to ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies. Manage ERP systems and ensure processes are updated, including maintaining segregation of duties to support operational efficiency and quality assurance.
- Team Leadership: Manage and mentor the accounting team, promoting professional development and team efficiency.
- Audit & Compliance: Coordinate with external auditors and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement best practices to optimize accounting processes and systems.
- Strategic Planning: Partner with executive leadership to provide financial insights that drive decision-making and business growth.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field (CPA or CMA preferred).
- 4 years Controller related experience, preferred.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and cost accounting principles, particularly in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar).
Compensation:
- Malco Tools offers competitive wages, with the beginning salary range for this position starting at:
- $118k - $153k
*Compensation is based on performance and experience, as we believe in rewarding our employees for their contributions through a pay-for-performance structure.
