Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Body Shop Painter to prepare and paint heavy equipment, trucks, and other construction-related vehicles and machinery. The ideal candidate will have experience in surface preparation, mixing and applying paint, and ensuring high-quality finishes while following safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare surfaces for painting, including sanding, masking, and priming.
- Mix and apply paint, coatings, and finishes using spray guns, brushes, and rollers.
- Inspect and touch up painted surfaces to ensure a high-quality finish.
- Operate and maintain painting equipment, including spray guns, air compressors, and drying booths.
- Follow all safety guidelines, including proper ventilation and protective equipment usage.
- Match paint colors and ensure consistency across equipment.
- Repair minor bodywork damage, including dents, scratches, and rust removal.
- Keep a clean and organized work area, ensuring compliance with OSHA and environmental regulations.
- Work collaboratively with team members to meet deadlines and project requirements.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Previous experience as a body shop painter, preferably in the construction or heavy equipment industry.
- Knowledge of automotive or industrial painting techniques and materials.
- Ability to mix and match paint colors accurately.
- Familiarity with spray guns, HVLP systems, and other painting equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift heavy parts or equipment.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and hazardous material handling.
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in automotive or industrial painting.
- Experience with body repair and refinishing techniques.
- Knowledge of waterborne and solvent-based paint systems.
