Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Training Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of environmentally sustainable practices within the landscaping industry. As a Training Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in developing and delivering training programs that align with our commitment to green industry standards.
Training Specialist responsibilities include communicating with managers to identify training needs and mapping out development plans for teams and individuals. Training Specialists are responsible for managing, designing, developing, coordinating, and conducting all training programs.
Our ideal candidate has experience with various training methods, including on-the-job coaching, various training programs/software, and e-learning. Experience with different projects, like management training and soft-skills development, is also essential.
You should also be familiar with the instructors, equipment, and educational material requirements for each project. If you can think of and design engaging ways to train our employees (e.g. client role-playing exercises or outdoor activities), we’d like to meet you.
Ultimately, the role of the Training Specialist is to oversee all professional development at our company.
Essential Functions:
- Map out annual training plans for management
- Design and develop training programs (outsourced and/or in-house)
- Select appropriate training methods or activities (e.g. simulations, mentoring, on-the-job training, professional development classes)
- Market available training to employees and provide necessary information about sessions
- Conduct organization-wide training needs assessment and identify skills or knowledge gaps that need to be addressed
- Use known education principles and stay up-to-date on new training methods and techniques
- Design, and prepare educational aids and materials
- Coordinates, secures, facilitates, and forecasts internal class scheduling, enrollments, and other related functions through the various training programs
- Creates reports and communicates findings to Operational Vice Presidents and other key stakeholders
- Host train-the-trainer sessions for internal subject matter experts
- Research and recommend new training methods, like gamification
Qualifications
Experience Required:
- 3 years of experience as a Corporate Training Specialist, Corporate Trainer, Training Facilitator, Learning & Development, or a similar role
- 1 years of experience in the landscaping, hardscaping, irrigation, agriculture, or horticulture industry is heavily preferred but not required
- Hands-on experience coordinating multiple training events
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English is a huge PLUS
- Adequate knowledge of learning management systems and web delivery tools
- High proficiency in MS Office
-Experience with LMS Greenius is a huge plus
