About the Role

As our Human Resources Manager, you will lead HR strategies and operational excellence in a fast-paced, manufacturing-driven environment. This pivotal role blends strategic thinking with hands-on execution, making you a trusted partner and a mentor to our HR Coordinator. You’ll drive initiatives that align people with business goals, foster a cohesive culture, and ensure operational efficiency. Your Key Responsibilities

Strategic HR Leadership

  • Collaborate with leadership to align HR strategies with long-term organizational objectives.
  • Proactively drive cultural alignment and foster a positive work environment by improving communication, trust, and accountability.
  • Serve as an advisor on workforce planning, employee engagement, benefits, and organizational change.

Team Mentorship & Development

  • Mentor and develop the HR Coordinator, providing personalized coaching, training, and growth opportunities.
  • Design and implement impactful training programs for supervisors to enhance conflict resolution, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Serve as a role model by promoting a collaborative and results-driven HR function.

HR Operational Excellence

  • Oversee recruitment and onboarding, ensuring we attract and retain top talent.
  • Continually improve HR operations such as onboarding and performance management processes.
  • Ensure the accuracy of HRIS systems and benefits administration.
  • Administer benefits, workers compensation, leave programs (FMLA, etc.) and maintain detailed personnel records.

Employee Engagement & Communication

  • Lead engagement initiatives to strengthen trust and collaboration across teams.
  • Advocate for ESOP awareness and educate employees on the benefits of employee ownership.
  • Act as the central point of communication for leadership, employees, and external partners to maintain a consistent message and culture.

Compliance & Metrics

  • Ensure company policies, safety protocols, and ISO training requirements are adhered to.
  • Conduct timely and fair investigations into employee grievances, maintaining confidentiality and impartiality.
  • Monitor and analyze HR metrics to identify trends and implement data-driven improvements.

Additional Contributions

  • Coordinate the company’s health and wellness program in collaboration with benefits brokers.
  • Oversee and communicate annual policy reviews, open enrollment meetings, and the dissemination of ESOP and 401(k) updates.
  • Promote continuous improvement by attending and leading HR-related training sessions and company huddles.

Who You Are

  • A mid-career HR professional with 5 years of experience, ideally in manufacturing or a similarly structured industry.
  • Proven success in managing transitions, implementing HR initiatives, and building trust across diverse teams.
  • A balance of strategic and hands-on experience that allows you to lead confidently while addressing operational priorities.

Your Key Skills

  • Expertise in conflict resolution, employee engagement, and leadership development.
  • Exceptional project management and organizational abilities, ensuring accountability and execution.
  • Excellent communication skills, bridging gaps between leadership, HR, and employees.
  • Adaptability to manage immediate needs while planning for the long-term.
  • Talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, and a deep understanding of employment laws and regulations.


Certifications & Education

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred (or equivalent experience).
  • SHRM-CP/SCP or HRCI certification highly desirable.


Physical Requirements:

  • Repetitive hand and finger movements while operating a computer keyboard and mouse.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Ability to hear and understand verbal communication.
  • Occasionally lift and carry light objects.

Work Environment:

  • Work is performed indoors within the office setting.
  • Moderate noise level; Usually quiet.
  • Overhead fluorescent lighting.
