Job Description: As a Maintenance Technician at Malley's Chocolates, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing facilities. You will be responsible for performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment to minimize downtime and maintain optimal production efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine inspections of production machinery and equipment to identify potential issues and perform necessary repairs or adjustments.
- Execute preventive maintenance tasks according to established schedules to prevent equipment failure and minimize downtime.
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective actions to restore functionality.
- Collaborate with the production team to identify opportunities for process improvement and equipment optimization.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work performed, parts used, and equipment status.
- Adhere to safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.
- Assist in the installation, commissioning, and decommissioning of production equipment as needed.
- Participate in training programs to enhance technical skills and stay updated on industry best practices.
- Ensure LOTO compliance
Requirements/Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a maintenance technician in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the food or confectionery industry.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing industrial equipment.
- Utility maintenance preferred.
- Familiarity with electrical systems, PLCs, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and respond to after-hours emergency calls.
- Understanding of food safety regulations and quality standards (e.g., GMPs, HACCP, ODA, OSHA – Training will be provided).
- Must have basic understanding of English verbal and written comprehension skills.
- Must be able to push, pull, carry, and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Physical stamina and ability to lift, bend, stoop, and stand for extended periods of time.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, both independently and as part of a team.
