- Greet patients and answer telephone in courteous and professional manner, address questions and direct calls.

- Responsible for verifying patient's Eligibility-Medicaid, Medicare, Private Insurance and Self Pay.
- Set up Patient Payment Plans.
- Appoint and reappoint patients, check patients in and out and accurately distribute payments.
- Review demographics, insurance, sliding scale eligibility (if applicable), and Primary Care Provider (PCP) designation at time of appointment.
- Input patient data in practice management system, scan the necessary documentation to patient electronic file, and generate an encounter.
- Collect insurance co-pay/deductible sliding scale fee and lab fees for outside orders at the time of appointment.
- Assist patients with patient registration forms and other initial data forms.
- Assist patients with scheduling and rescheduling appointments.
- Call patients to remind them of their appointments.
- Ensure patient confidentiality and provide patients with needed information.
- Verify patient file information one day prior to patient visit.
- Maintain high level of confidentiality and attention to detail while working with sensitive Patient Health Information (PHI).
- Scan all documents to be filed into electronic health record (EHR).
- Demonstrate the willingness to work with other staff and assist in other areas as needed.
- Cross-train within dental department; assisting with day-to-day operations and presenting financial treatment plan alternatives to patients.
- Maintain and balance cash flow sheet with daily financial summary log on a daily basis.
- Responsible for attending staff and in-service meetings.
- Perform other necessary duties as required by the Community Health Center to meet the goals of providing primary health care.
- Associate's Degree from a Business or Technical school with one-year experience or High school diploma or GED with 3 years of related and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Excellent communication skills with a friendly, patient-focused attitude.
- Strong organizational abilities and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with office equipment (fax, multi-line phone system, etc.).
- Ability to stay calm and composed in busy or high-pressure situations.
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems (i.e. Athena, Dentrix)
- Must maintain a professional appearance, demeanor, and confidentiality at all times.
- Must work well in a collaborative environment, supporting colleagues while maintaining a high level of service for patients.
- Knowledge of patient confidentiality laws, including HIPAA, and ensuring compliance with these regulations at all times.
- Ability to maintain a high level of integrity and professionalism in all interactions, ensuring that patient privacy and safety are prioritized.
