- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial regulations.
- Prepare financial statements and reports to support decision-making processes.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and projections.
- Upload Operating Account monthly cash activity.
- Perform daily cash receipt reconciliations submitted by Receptionist and/or Billing Specialist.
- Assist with monitoring and analysis of billing claim denials.
- Assist with monitoring and analysis of provider encounter productivity.
- Reconcile Agency bank and investment accounts to monthly statements.
- Prepare monthly journal entries and maintain account reconciliations and schedules for Balance Sheet accounts (i.e.: Prepaid Expenses, Accrued Expenses, Due To/From, etc.)
- Maintain Fixed Asset schedule and related Depreciation journal entries.
- Reconcile monthly statements and compile all documentation to support statement charges.
- Analyze and report on billing account write-offs.
- Cross train with goal of expanding skillset and serve as schedule coverage, including Accounts Payable, Payroll and Purchasing.
- Assist with periodic and annual audits.
- Provide support in analyzing transactions as requested by the Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
- Collaborate with internal departments to ensure financial policies and procedures are followed.
- Assist in preparing for audits and ensuring compliance with federal and state financial guidelines.
- Perform other necessary duties as required by the Community Health Center to meet the goals of providing primary health care.
- Education: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience and/or training OR equivalent combination of education and experience, preferably in a healthcare or non-profit setting.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage) and Microsoft Excel.
- Attention to Detail: Strong analytical skills with a keen eye for accuracy.
- Communication: Ability to effectively communicate financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
