We are seeking a Payroll Manager to oversee and manage our companys payroll operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and experienced in processing payroll for a multi-state organization. What Youll Do as a Payroll Manager:
- Process bi-weekly and semi-monthly payroll for multi-state employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with all federal, state, and local laws
- Manage payroll tax reporting, including quarterly and annual filings
- Oversee employee wage and hour compliance, including overtime, garnishments, and deductions
- Maintain payroll records and generate reports for management as needed
- Work closely with HR to ensure proper payroll funding and reconciliation for benefits
- Administer 401(k) contributions, benefits deductions, and other payroll-related transactions
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, taxes, and deductions
- Stay up to date on payroll laws and regulations to ensure compliance and best practices
- Lead payroll audits and assist with year-end reporting, including W-2 preparation Identify and implement process improvements to enhance payroll efficiency
What Were Looking for in a Payroll Manager:
- 5 years of payroll processing experience, preferably in a multi-state environment
- Strong knowledge of payroll tax laws, wage & hour regulations, and compliance standards
- Experience with payroll software and HRIS systems (e.g., ADP, Paycom, UKG, or similar)
- High attention to detail with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Strong organizational and time management skills to meet deadlines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other payroll-related software
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification is a plus
- Experience in distribution or manufacturing industries is a plus
- Reliable transportation to and from work
- Ability to read and write in English
