Job Title: Sheet Metal Fabricator

Job Location: Production

Reports to: Sheet Metal Lead

Job Description: Setup & operate a variety of saws, assembly, and forming equipment to produce formed sheet metal and assembled parts to blueprints/job routers. It will include use of precision instrument to check parts.

Job Responsibilities:

• Setup & Fabricate sheet metal components using an array of equipment including but not limited to CNC brake press, shrink/stretching equipment, basic roll forming equipment, etc. in accordance with provided travelers, blueprints, and tooling travelers.
• Use and select required hand tools, machinery, measuring instruments, and abrasives in accordance with detailed work instructions and blueprints.
• Operate various mills, brakes, presses, and Sheet Metal/Assembly hand tools in accordance with work instructions, videos' etc.
• Deburr parts.
• Complete all paperwork documentation accurately and legibly.
• Observe/listen to machine for malfunction concerns.
• Immediately report any part out of dimensional tolerance or machine not performing as told or expected.
• Operate Band Saw
• Operate Hem-Saw
• Operate Shear
• Follow all production procedures for non-conforming product.
• Follow all safety procedures and documentation.

Education, Skills & Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Proven ability to locate and read information to understand/read blueprints/drawings.
• Basic math skills
• Basic blueprint reading skills.
• Ability to use of various inspection gauges.
• Capability to work successfully within a team environment.
• Proven ability for attention to details.
• Basic mechanical skill and aptitude
• Desire to develop and further improve technical and mechanical skills.
Excellent Attendance

Preferred/Not Required Skills:

• Prior experience with sheet metal forming primarily from aluminum.
• Prior experience using and operating press brake equipment.
• Proven ability to locate and read information to understand/read blueprints/drawings.

• Position may require manual dexterity for handling tools and equipment.
• Work is performed while standing, sitting and/or walking.
• Position may require the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision, and hearing.
• Position may require the use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations.
• Position may require bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, reaching.
• Position may require the ability to lift, carry, push, or pull medium weights, up to 30-75 pounds (50-75 lbs. would have partner assistance)
Position may require activities involving being around moving machinery, exposure to marked changes in temperature and humidity, and exposure to dust, fumes, and gases.

Work Environment

The plant is a machining environment; therefore, you may be required to wear respiratory protection due to air borne particles, chemicals & solvents depending on position.

Safety glasses are required at all times in production areas. OSHA regulations are followed.
