Job Purpose and Reporting Structure:
Malteurop is looking for an Intern with an understanding of accounting and financial principles ready for an immersive, real-world experience.
Accounting SUPPORT: Under the supervision of the Controller, the Finance Intern can expect to participate in the preparation of XXX entries, XX financial reports, analyze data, learn XX software, and assist with other accounting activities. Intern should be a motivated team player who can maintain efficiency and accuracy when multitasking.
Industrial Project Support: As part of a worldwide project, Group Management Control will be benchmarking the production costs of each plant. The analysis will be carried out in collaboration with the management control departments and the operations department and will enable improvement action plans to be drawn up. Intern will provide support to the project team members on data collection, analysis, and structuring tasks as defined below.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Industrial Project Support :
- Participation on Data Collection and Analysis:
- Assist in coordinating project activities and tracking schedules.
- Help prepare project documentation such as progress reports and meeting minutes.
- Support organization of project meetings and workshops.
- Assist with various administrative tasks to ensure project efficiency.
- Collect and analyze financial data part of the Industrial Benchmark
- Prepare reports summarizing key findings from data collection.
- Collaborate with the team to interpret data.
- Ensure data integrity.
Accounting and Controlling Support:
- Applying customer payments in SAP received through the factoring program.
- Clearing GL transactions in SAP
- Assisting with month-end reconciliations and reporting
- Assisting with gathering of information for year-end audit
Qualification Requirements:
- Pursuit of bachelor’s degree in Accounting and/or Finance.
- Satisfactory completion of introductory accounting courses and a basic understanding of accounting and financial principles.
- Proactive self-starter with the ability to work independently and in teams.
- Demonstrated creative problem-solving skills and analytical assessment.
- Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel with an aptitude for math.
- Strong work ethic, good communication skills, high attention to detail worker who is result driven.
- Genuine interest in finance, accounting field and a willingness to learn new skills.
- Proficient in English
Working Schedule:
- Up to 40 hrs/week based on projects and assignments.
- Start Date: May 2025
