What are the responsibilities and job description for the Line Cook position at Mamaleh’s?
Mamaleh’s is hiring a Line Cook!
The line cook is responsible for working a station as a member of a team. They will do prep, set up and break down a station, work service, and help clean the kitchen at the end of service.
The Line Cook position is divided into Line Cook 3, Line Cook 2 and Line Cook 1, with those in the Line Cook 3 and Line Cook 2 positions having the opportunity to advance through to the Line Cook 1 position.
Responsibilities and Expectations of Cook 3 and Cook 2 :
- NOTE : There is no expectation of prior cooking experience for Line Cook 3.
- Follow recipes
- Set up and break down station
- Maintain station and prep work with proper rotation of food product
- Stay up to date on menu changes
- Participate in the preparation of new menu items
- Work collaboratively with BOH staff and FOH staff
- Hone existing skills while learning new techniques and building skill set
- Maintain cleanliness of station and any BOH work areas, including and not limited to refrigeration, cooking equipment, and prep areas
- Participate in deep cleaning of BOH work areas, including and not limited to refrigeration, cooking equipment, and prep areas
- Strong communication skills to convey needs to managers and teammates and ability to interact in a professional manner
- Able to maintain and ensure proper plate presentation and cleanliness
- Able to maintain a sense of urgency and comfort in a fast-paced environment
- Able to use our scheduling systems and software to communicate effectively with managers and coworkers
