What are the responsibilities and job description for the Special Education Aide - Middle School position at MAMARONECK UNION FREE SCHOOL DISTRICT?
We are looking for a reliable and caring individual to join our team at Mamaroneck High School as a Teacher’s Aide.
POSITION: Special Education Teacher Aide
LOCATION: Hommocks Middle High School
HOURS: Monday – Friday, 35 hours per week
TIME: 7:50am - 3:20pm, with a 30 minute lunch
SUPERVISOR: Building Assistant Principal
DATE POSITION IS AVAILABLE: Immediately
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Monitor the health and well-being of students
- Effectively communicate with classroom teacher and administration
- Willingness to obtain and employ Crisis Prevention and Intervention Training
- Data collection and implementation of behavior plans
- Assist daily transitions which included lunch and recess
- Support of students with accommodations per their IEP
- Collaboration with special education teacher and other staff members on behalf of the student’s success
- Other duties as assigned
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- A professional, patient, and calm demeanor with children of all ages
- Experience with children who have attentional, behavioral/emotional, and academic challenges
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION: High School Diploma
