- Design and build application databases by creating models based on business requirements.
- Perform backup and restore operations.
- Monitor, manage space, and set up alerts.
- Estimate required capacity and plan accordingly.
- Tune performance for optimal efficiency.
- Plan and maintain reorganization processes.
- Provide production support and manage problems.
- Plan and execute software upgrade activities.
- Ensure thorough documentation and quality assurance.
- Support developers with database-related topics.
- Expertise in mainframe environments (JCL, REXX) and database management/administration for DB2 or Adabas.
- Basic knowledge of mainframe development languages and processes.
- Ability to work independently.
- Strong interest in new mainframe topics and interactions.
