Mammoth Sports Construction is seeking a Director of Estimating with a minimum of 8 years of construction experience. The role oversees the pre-construction estimating process, ensuring accurate cost projections and competitive bids for construction projects. This leadership role involves managing a team of estimators, analyzing project requirements, and collaborating with stakeholders to optimize cost efficiency and profitability.
JOB LOCATION: Meriden, Kansas
ESSTENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead and manage the estimating department, ensuring accurate and timely project cost estimates.
- Develop and implement estimating strategies, procedures, and best practices.
- Review project specifications, drawings, and contracts to assess scope and cost factors.
- Analyze historical data and market trends to improve cost accuracy and competitiveness.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to develop cost-effective solutions.
- Oversee bid preparation, subcontractor/vendor pricing, and proposal development.
- Identify potential risks, cost-saving opportunities, and value engineering solutions.
- Maintain relationships with suppliers, subcontractors, and industry professionals.
- Train and mentor estimators to enhance team performance and efficiency.
- Support executive leadership in strategic planning and business development efforts.
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field.
- 8 years of experience in construction estimating, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and cost estimating principles.
- Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, ProEst, PlanSwift, Sage Estimating).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Experience in sports construction is a plus
