The Quality Assurance Shop Inspector is responsible for ensuring that products and services meet established MAN specifications and Industry standards such as API. This role involves active monitoring, policy implementation, audit preparation, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational quality and compliance.
Key Job Responsibilities:
Evaluate mechanical systems and components for adherence to quality standards and regulatory compliance.
Perform rigorous testing and assessment of mechanical parts to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
Prepare comprehensive inspection reports detailing findings and recommendations for improvements.
Collaborate effectively with engineers and production teams to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
Advise on corrective measures to address and rectify quality concerns and enhance system performance.
Ensure strict adherence to internal and external standards through meticulous inspection practices.
Maintain precise records of inspections and tests to support quality assurance and traceability.
Utilize advanced precision measurement tools and equipment to ensure accurate assessments.
Detect and analyze defects and deviations from specifications to uphold product quality.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities for process enhancements.
Mentor and train junior inspectors, sharing expertise and fostering professional development.
Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices to apply cutting-edge knowledge in inspections.
Assist in developing and refining inspection procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
Interpret and review technical drawings and specifications to ensure accurate inspections.
Ensure proper calibration and maintenance of inspection tools and equipment to guarantee reliable results.
Oversee the lessons learned process, documenting insights and improvements for future reference.
Manage and document HSEQ shop intent processes and procedures to ensure compliance and safety.
Fulfill additional responsibilities as assigned by MAN Management to support organizational goals.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree or ASQ and/or equivalent experience in a related role. Demonstrating strong technical expertise, organizational abilities, and excellent written communication skills.
Experience/Qualifications/Skills:
Minimum five (3) to seven (5) years experience in quality control and/or operations.
ASQ Quality Inspector Certification or equivalent is highly preferred.
Experience as an ISO Internal Auditor is preferred, with a strong understanding of ISO standards (9001, 14001, and 45001).
Experience in Non-Destructive Evaluation (NDE) coordination and testing is advantageous.
Demonstrated expertise in data analysis and statistical analysis, with the ability to interpret and utilize data effectively. Desired
Good communication skills, capable of engaging professionally and effectively across all organizational levels and in multinational environments. Desired
Proficiency in root cause analysis techniques, such as the 5 Whys or Fishbone Diagram, to identify and resolve issues efficiently. Desired
Experienced in quality inspection, lean improvement methodologies, and adherence to industry-specific quality standards.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, and other quality control applications.
In-depth knowledge of QC metrology tools, concepts, and methodologies for precise quality assessments.
Strong understanding of relevant regulatory requirements and their application within the quality control process.
