General Description:
Long-term care pharmacy, Managed Healthcare Pharmacy Eugene, has an opening for a full-time Certified Oregon Pharmacy Technician (COPT) or Pharmacy Technician (PT) to fill a Packaging Technician position. This technician will be primarily responsible for pharmacy production, order filling/packing, and potentially working on the Synmed automatic filling machine.
Shift Options:
- Monday – Friday 10AM – 6:30PM
- Monday – Friday (minus 1 day of your choice) and Saturday 9:30AM – 6PM
- Monday – Friday (minus 1 day of your choice) and Sunday 10AM – 6:30PM
- Monday – Friday (minus 2 days of your choice), Saturday 9:30AM – 6PM, & Sunday 10AM – 6:30PM
Technical Skills Required:
- Must be a Certified Pharmacy Technician (COPT) or Pharmacy Technician (PT).
- Working knowledge of the institutional pharmacy business.
- Working knowledge of the long-term care and community-based care business is preferred.
- Effective communicator, both verbally and written.
- Possess good people skills.
- Work effectively in a team/group environment.
- Demonstrate computer literacy, especially with Windows-based software.
- Be able to effectively manage activities quickly, with great attention to detail.
- Problem-solving skills to independently recognize and define a problem; identify the resources available to help solve the problem; and follow through to ensure the problem is resolved to the satisfaction of all parties.
- Able to be self-motivated to complete tasks and work with minimal supervision, yet to recognize when it is appropriate to seek assistance from others when limits of authority have been reached.
Examples of Duties:
- Comply with the Oregon Board of Pharmacy’s Administrative Rules and Regulations.
- Comply with all federal and state laws, rules and regulations governing the practice of pharmacy and the delivery of medical equipment and supplies.
- Maintain a sanitary operation of the pharmacy in compliance with the appropriate laws.
- Learn the pharmacy software.
- Perform daily operations of the pharmacy.
- Handle basic computer tasks such as looking up patient and prescription information.
- Operate, clean, and maintain the automated Synmed machine as directed by Pharmacy Manager, PIC, or Pharmacist
- Fill daily, cycle, and batch orders as directed by Pharmacy Manager, PIC or Pharmacist.
- Other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for the duration of the shift.
- Ability to perform repetitious physical activity—light lifting (up to 15 pounds).
