This role will focus on driving improvements in safety, quality, cost reduction, and continuous improvement in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Propose, coordinate, and implement projects that enhance safety, quality, and productivity while reducing costs.
- Identify and prioritize opportunities for improving manufacturing productivity across the facility.
- Train and coach project owners on lean manufacturing techniques, statistical tools, and process improvement methods.
- Analyze and recommend optimal solutions for manufacturing challenges, considering economic return and facility layout.
- Perform methods studies to determine the most efficient processes and techniques for product manufacturing.
- Provide support for manufacturing processes related to welding and fixturing.
- Research and recommend new equipment and manufacturing technologies, and make plant design adjustments as needed.
- Develop and document operational procedures, manufacturing routings, and production standards.
- Implement cost-reduction projects using lean manufacturing principles such as Kaizen, 5S, and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Lead the Management of Change (MOC) process for product and process launches.
- Conduct process mapping, PFMEA analysis, and develop control plans.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, supporting operations and production.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Continuous Improvement and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Experience with SAP is required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, or Mechanical Engineering (other degrees will be considered with relevant experience).
- Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
- Experience in cycle time analysis, cell design, and supply chain analysis.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and facilitation skills.
- Results-oriented with the ability to drive projects to completion.
- Ability to identify opportunities for process optimization and cost savings.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work cross-functionally and lead initiatives across multiple teams.
