Performs specialized clerical functions within health services of inmate medical records in compliance with American Correctional Association (ACA) standards, MTC Medical, and Florida Department of Corrections (FDOC) directives. Essential Functions : 1. Prepare correspondence, reports and letters; proofread material to verify accuracy. 2. Maintain appropriate medical and dental supplied as well as office supplies. 3. Log and distribute incoming mail, prepare outgoing mail, answer telephone and convey messages. 4. Schedule appointments for physician, dentist and mental health clinician. 5. Log medical restriction list. 6. Maintain records and files. 7. Promote the development of positive social skills through modeling appropriate behaviors and intervening when inappropriate behaviors are observed; provide regular feedback to staff regarding social skills procedures and intervention techniques. 8. Maintain accountability of staff, inmates and property; adhere to safety practices. It is expected that the incumbent shall perform other duties as assigned within his / her capabilities as determined by management. Education and Experience Requirements : High school diploma or equivalent and one (1) year varied clerical experience preferred. Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record required, unless waived by management. Post Hire Requirements : Must attain and maintain appropriate facility security clearance.
