Title: Controller
The Position
Our client, a global manufacturing company, is actively seeking a Controller at their established manufacturing site in the St. Charles - Aurora, IL area. The Controller provides finance expertise and decision-making support to business leaders in support of the regional strategy, goals and objectives. The Controller also performs accounting and analytical duties to ensure accurate and timely reporting and control for the region and assigned plants.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Regular daily and month-end accounting activities, including journal entries, system transactions, and account reconciliations. Complete ownership of the financials.
- Internal reporting of financials and plant financial analysis on a regular and as-needed basis.
- Overseeing costing and quoting function, partnering with Operations, Sale,s and Regional Finance Directors
- Responsible for annual regional budget and monthly forecasts, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Support Internal Control compliance efforts through preparation, monitoring, and reporting activities
- Responsible for monitoring and ensuring tasks are done timely:
- Interaction with the Accounts Receivable Team as needed
- Interaction with the Accounts Payable Team as needed
- Analysis of standard labor and material costs and analysis of variances
- Month-end reporting and analysis
- Quarterly and Year-End Audit requests
- Support for Plant Operations, including Capital Expenditure analysis
- Ad hoc analysis
- Help identify or provide information on continuous improvement opportunities
- Perform special projects or other duties as assigned
Position Requirements:
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
Experience
- 3-5 years of related work experience in accounting, A/R, A/P, and General Ledger is preferred.
- Cost Accounting in a manufacturing setting is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with expertise in MS Excel.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize.
- Experience with ERP systems, IQMS, and/or Oracle experience preferred
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
This position will require some travel between St. Charles & Aurora, IL.
