Title : Manufacturing Engineer
Our client, a full-service plastic injection molding contract manufacturer and FDA-certified medical device manufacturer, is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer at its established manufacturing site outside of Erie, Pennsylvania.
Position Overview
Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Manufacturing Engineer optimizes and improves production processes in plastic injection molding, ensuring efficiency and quality. This role involves project management, vendor coordination, cost estimation, process validation, and equipment design while maintaining safety and productivity standards.
Responsibilities and Functions :
- Develops, evaluates, and improves secondary operations methods.
- Assists in preparing quotes for secondary operations.
- Confers with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards.
- Develop packaging for products.
- Estimates production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions.
- Manage projects within budget and maintain delivery dates.
- Supports production requirements as needed.
- Police use of safety devices and equipment and general housekeeping; maintains alert for hazardous conditions and practices.
- Design, build, and maintain various pieces of secondary operations equipment.
- Develop process verification and / or validation for the assembly and inspection of non-medical and medical products.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, climb, and sit. Regularly uses hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, tools, and equipment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts and electrical circuits. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
