What you will be doing: You’ll be responsible for treating and preventing minor injuries and illnesses. Will provide information and guidance for the promotion of good health and well-being of our students. Works in collaboration with the WHD and provides oversight of the wellness clinic in their absence.
Essential functions:
- Provide nursing and basic healthcare to students as authorized.
- Provide supervision to the staff LPNs/LVNs to assure compliance.
- Monitor students with illness who are unable to attend class.
- As required, take after hour phone calls from non-health staff for student's medical symptoms' not covered under the symptomatic management guidelines (SMGs) or directed calls per the SMG.
- Conduct coordinated health care for students and implementation of other health related programs.
- Assure clinic services, including medication management are within health staff scope of practice and within state, federal, & company regulations.
- Record keeping.
- Assist in development of community linkages for health and disability resources.
- Provide direction and technical assistance to LPNs/LVPs in all required health related programs.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Active, unrestricted registered nurse license in the state of employment.
- A valid driver license with an acceptable driving record.
