Hotel General Manager

The Fairfield Inn & Suites Northampton/Amherst is looking for a hands-on General Manager with the highest level of integrity. You will be responsible for managing all aspects of the hotel, including Sales and Marketing, Revenue Management, and Food and Beverage. The General Manager must be able to train and develop staff to ensure the highest level of service and the lowest percentage of turnover. The General Manager must strive to achieve the highest guest and employee satisfaction level.

• Tour and inspect the property regularly for cleanliness, safety and security hazards, product quality control, and exceptional service seen throughout the hotel.
• Conduct weekly team meetings, Attend weekly staff meetings
• Respond to guest concerns in a timely fashion
• Excellent time management and leadership skills
• Create a culture of transparency, clear communication, promotions within, recognition and accountability
• Ensure the highest level of financial success is achieved by controlling labor, overtime, expenses, and preventive maintenance
• Maintain a strong knowledge of the local market, such as demand generators, competitor strategy, and community impact/involvement opportunities.
• Enforce and comply with all Marriott standards.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience as an Assistant GM/ General Manager in a branded hotel, preferable a Marriott hotel full-service hotel
• Excellent communication and strong leadership skills
• Ability and willingness to step into any roll to ensure the success of the hotel operation
• Lead by example
• Ability to achieve the financial goals by driving the profitability and RevPAR
• Prior experience in historic hotels is a plus
