What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shipping and Receiving Clerk position at Mancan?
Mancan is currently seeking a detail-oriented and experienced individual to join our team as a Shipping/Receiving Dock Person. Your duties will include, but are not limited to:
-Performing general shipping, receiving, and warehousing functions.
-Controlling all aspects of inspecting, weighing, storing, and moving materials entering and leaving the facility.
-Maintaining inventory control, including identification, verification, inputting, and auditing of information into the inventory system.
-Reviewing and comparing packing slips, packaging instructions, and shipping labels.
-Recording receipt of goods and managing all shipping functions, including receipts and shipments.
-Preparing daily shipments and receiving documentation and safely loading trucks, trailers, and sea containers via forklift.
-Maintaining inventory of shipping supplies and preparing order requisitions to ensure adequate stock.
-Managing customer-owned warehousing inventory and reconciling monthly receipts and shipments.
-Being proficient in various forms and documentation required by major freight carriers for domestic and international shipments.
-Maintaining knowledge of hazardous materials regulations and certifications for shipping dangerous goods.
-Assisting in implementing improvements within the supply chain management and material tracking systems.
-Maintaining a clean and orderly work area, following safety regulations, and conducting site security inspections per Department of Homeland Security (DHS) guidelines.
Requirements:
-Two-year associated degree or equivalent experience.
-One to two years of experience in a supply chain or manufacturing setting preferred.
-Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Outlook, Word) and basic office equipment.
-Ability to learn and adapt to additional software programs as needed.
-Superior listening, oral, and written communication skills with attention to detail and strong math skills.
-Understanding of inventory management, export control, and shipping/receiving documentation concepts is a plus.
-Safe forklift operating experience is a must, along with proficiency in other material handling equipment.
-Must have reliable transportation.
-Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and national criminal background check.
-Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Qualifications:
-Valid state driver's license.
-High school diploma or GED.
-Must be dependable and reliable.
